The Planning Board oversees land use, development, and zoning to guide the town’s growth and future.

About the Planning Board

Board meetings are now held at 7:00 the second and fourth Mondays of the month.

If Monday falls on a holiday the meeting is held the following Tuesday.

Meetings may be cancelled if there is no business brought before the Planning Board.

Planning Board Decision Process

The Board currently consists of six members. Each member has one vote. The Code Enforcement Officer sits on the board but in an advisory capacity. A majority vote is required to finalize a decision. With six members, a minium of four votes are required for approval.

  2. Shoreland Overlay Zone for Nonconforming Buildings
  3. Building Permits
  4. Subdivision Permits Review and Recommendations
  5. Amendments to the Bowerbank Land Use Ordinance
